Even if it is the traveler who wants to cancel their Vrbo reservation, you must be the one who processes the cancellation in AvaiBook.
If a traveler decides to cancel a reservation already confirmed in Vrbo XML, the first thing they will have to do is request the cancellation from their traveler account in the portal.
We leave you a guide provided by Vrbo on its platform, with the steps that the traveler has to carry out to request the cancellation:
Then, it is the owner who, once he receives the request to cancel the reservation, must process the cancellation, from the details of the same in AvaiBook.
To do this, you must access the details of the reservation that is pending cancellation, through Planning > Reservations > Reservation Id > Search, you will locate the reservation in question, access the file and click Cancel, below the right.
You will get two options:
1. The traveler wants to cancel
Remember that to use this option, it is a mandatory that the traveler has made a request to cancel the reservation from Vrbo. Please note that if you cancel without receiving a formal cancellation request from the traveler, Vrbo may penalize you, and this will be reflected in Vrbo's ranking metrics.
If you select the option "The traveler wants to cancel", you will go to a second page where you must confirm the cancellation of the reservation.
Important:
If the traveler is entitled to a refund due to the cancellation policy, it is not possible to do it automatically. Returns must be made manually in the system. For more information, see How do I make a return?
2. I will cancel myself
You can use this option if for some reason you are forced to cancel a Vrbo reservation, we advise you to use it only for reasons of force majeure.
Remember that if you have many such cancellations, Vrbo could lower your ranking in search results.
If you select the option "I will cancel myself", you will go to a second page where you must confirm the cancellation of the reservation.
Important:
