If you want to know in detail the ages of the guests of the reservations that come from your booking engine that are going to stay in your establishment, you can request this information in advance and differentiate between adults, children and babies.

To configure it, go to Accommodation>My accommodation> Rates.

In the section of Default rates you will have a drop-down indicated how to configure the ages of the guests, that will be considered as follows:

👶 Baby. He/she does not count as a guest and for this reason is not charged.

👦 Child. He/she counts as a guest and for this reason is charged. Minimum and maximum age inclusive

👨‍🦳 Adult. He/she counts as a guest so is charged.

⚠️ For example, if your accommodation has a capacity of 3 people, a reservation could be made by one adult and two children and 1 baby, the maximum occupancy will have to be equal to the sum between children and adults, babies would be excluded.

Complete accommodation

If you are setting up a complete accommodation, simply click on configure guest ages in the default rates, occupancy and restrictions section.

Indicate what is the 1- minimum age of children (below that age it will be considered a baby) and 2- maximum age (from that age it will be considered an adult). To finish the process, click on the SAVE button.

Partial accommodation

If your accommodation is partial, you will have to access the rates section.

Click on configure the ages of the Guests, and indicate the minimum age of the children (below that age they will be considered a baby) and maximum age (from that age they will be considered an adult).

If you want this same configuration to be applied to the rest of the accommodation units, mark the check to apply this age configuration in all the units of this accommodation.

To finish the process, click on the SAVE button.

In the following video we explain in a very simple way how to configure it:

What does it look like on a reservation?

The information on the ages of the travellers will appear in the reservation details in the Fast check in section.

We see an example in the following image, it is a reservation for an adult, a child and a baby:

1- Reservation occupancy 2 people.

2- One of the two guests is a 10-year-old boy

3- They are traveling with a Baby

.

How do I indicate it in a reservation?

As long as you have configured the ages of the guests in your accommodations, when you are going to create a reservation or a pre-reservation, you will be able to indicate how many of the total travelers in the reservation are children, adults and babies.

How does a traveler indicate it?

In the reservation process, the traveler will have to specify the number of people and which of them are adults, children and babies. The system will never allow you to make a reservation exceeding your maximum occupancy.

How does it work if you have an XML connection to a portal?

  • Airbnb: In Airbnb reservations, the children, if there are any, will be reflected. This information will be sent to us by the portal no matter of what you have configured in AvaiBook.

  • Booking (Limited Synchronization): In the reservations, the number of children and their ages that come in the reservation, if there are any, are recorded. But you have to configure the age ranges in Booking.

  • Booking (Full Content Version): In the reservations, the number of children and their ages that come in the reservation, if there are any, are recorded. The age ranges are configured in the accommodation setup and are sent to Booking as informative data so that can appear in the booking searches. The price by age range cannot yet be differentiated.

  • Rest of portals: Currently this field is not reflected.
