If some dates appear blocked on Airbnb and you were not expecting this, it does not necessarily mean that there is a synchronization error.
Dates may be blocked for different reasons related to:
availability,
restrictions,
configured rules,
existing bookings,
or the platform's own settings.
In this article, we explain the most common causes.
Dates may be occupied by existing bookings
The most common reason is usually that the dates are already blocked due to:
confirmed bookings,
manual blocks,
or availability not being open in the calendar.
We recommend first checking the accommodation calendar in AvaiBook to identify the source of the block.
Minimum advance booking restrictions
If you have minimum advance booking rules configured, Airbnb may block dates that do not meet these settings.
For example:
only allowing bookings several days in advance,
limiting last-minute bookings,
or restricting certain check-in dates.
In these cases, dates may appear unavailable to the guest even if the calendar appears to be free.
Minimum stay settings
Minimum stay restrictions may also cause certain dates to appear blocked.
For example:
a minimum stay of 3 nights,
gaps between bookings,
or combinations of dates that do not meet the configured rule.
In these cases, Airbnb may prevent certain check-ins or partial bookings.
Preparation time between bookings
If you have configured preparation time or a block between bookings, Airbnb will automatically block the affected dates.
This can be used, for example, for:
cleaning,
maintenance,
or preparing the accommodation between guests.
Updates may take a few minutes
When you make changes to availability or restrictions in AvaiBook, Airbnb may need a few additional minutes to update the listing calendar.
During this time:
some dates may still appear blocked,
or previously displayed information may temporarily remain visible.
Airbnb may apply its own restrictions
In certain cases, Airbnb may apply additional settings directly to the listing.
For example:
availability windows,
check-in restrictions,
booking settings,
or platform-specific limitations.
These settings may affect the dates visible to guests even if the calendar is correctly synchronized from AvaiBook.
Manual blocks made directly on Airbnb
If dates have been manually blocked directly on Airbnb, they may continue to appear unavailable.
We also recommend checking the calendar directly on Airbnb to see whether any restrictions have been manually applied on the platform.
Dates that were already blocked on Airbnb before synchronization
In many cases, dates may already have been blocked directly on Airbnb before connecting the listing to AvaiBook.
When this happens, Airbnb may retain these existing blocks even if AvaiBook is correctly sending availability from the synchronized calendar.
For this reason, some dates may continue to appear unavailable on Airbnb even after the connection has been completed.
How can I resolve this?
If the accommodation is already connected and the dates are still blocked on Airbnb, we recommend following these steps:
1️⃣ Go to AvaiBook and Airbnb and temporarily remove the listing connection.
2️⃣ Check the calendar directly on Airbnb.
3️⃣ Manually unblock any dates or periods that are still blocked.
4️⃣ Return to AvaiBook and start the Airbnb connection request again.
This will allow Airbnb to synchronize the calendar again using the current availability sent from AvaiBook as a reference.
