Protecting your account is essential. At AvaiBook, we offer you the option to enhance security through two-factor authentication (2FA). This feature adds a second layer of protection beyond your password, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

What is two-factor authentication?
Accessing your account will require two steps:

  • Enter your usual password.

  • Enter a temporary code generated by the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

This means that even if someone gets your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the code that only you have on your phone.

What do you need to activate it?

You need to have the Google Authenticator app installed on your mobile phone:

How to Activate 2FA When Multiple People Use the Same Email

It’s common for businesses or teams to have multiple people accessing the same account using one email address. This can cause confusion when trying to enable two-factor authentication (2FA), as many believe only one person can set up this extra layer of security.

But that’s not the case! 2FA can be set up on multiple devices linked to the same account and email. Here’s a simple way to ensure everyone can protect the account with 2FA without any hassle:

  1. When activating 2FA, a QR code will appear on the screen that you normally scan with an app like Google Authenticator on your mobile device.

  2. Instead of scanning it on just one device, take a screenshot of the QR code.

  3. Share this image securely with all employees or people who need account access.

  4. Each person can scan the same QR code with their own device and set up 2FA individually.

This way, all users sharing the email can protect their access with two-factor authentication, strengthening security with no complications.

Remember: Only share the QR code with trusted people and through secure channels to avoid any security risks.

When will you be asked for the code?

  • Every 7 days if you access from the same device/IP.

  • Whenever we detect a new device or location.

💡 Additional recommendations

  • Do not disable 2FA; it is an essential measure to protect your data and your business.

  • Keep your Authenticator app access safe; without it, you won’t be able to access your account.
